How to Use Dropbox for Wedding Photo Sharing
Dropbox can be a capable upload inbox when configured as a file request, but a shared folder and a wedding gallery are not the same thing.

Short answer
Use a Dropbox file request, not a normal shared folder. A file request lets people upload into a folder you choose without a Dropbox account, while keeping submissions hidden from other guests. It works well for couples who already use Dropbox and want an upload inbox; it is less suitable when guests should browse a live wedding gallery.

Set up the file request
- Create a clearly named destination folder.
- Open Dropbox File requests and create a new request.
- Describe the accepted media and select the destination.
- Copy the request link and turn it into a QR code.
- Test an anonymous upload before printing.
Dropbox states that Basic, Plus, and Family file requests accept files up to 2 GB each, while Professional and business plans can accept up to 250 GB per file. Your available Dropbox space still matters, so confirm quota before the event.
What Dropbox does well
Files arrive in storage the couple already understands, guests do not need an account for the request, and guest submissions are not exposed to one another. This is a solid fit for upload-only collection and a host who will curate elsewhere.
What it does not provide
A file request does not create a wedding-facing gallery, social feed, or live slideshow. The host must organize presentation separately. The page also looks like a general file transfer, so printed instructions should name the couple and explain why guests are uploading.
Final test
Open the request in a signed-out browser, upload a photo and video from iPhone and Android, verify the destination and names, then confirm that the host can download both. Dropbox's file request documentation should be rechecked for current plan limits.
Make the ask easy
Collect the photos guests actually took.
Give guests one QR code, let them upload from the browser, and keep the gallery under your control. Photos, videos, late uploads, and one download when you are ready.
